A small lecture about the internet

Hi there,

I would like to teach you some security information about the internet you are using.

I will start with giving you the question: Is your computer Mac OS or Windows 95-W7?

Windows: read on

Mac OS: you are behind trouble, still the info might be useful.

When you first get you computer you will get a free internet browser called Internet Explorer (Safari for MAC). If you are a bit of a newbie for computers, don't browse different sites often or just are happy with what you have, then you don't need to do anything. Like browsing and looking into new sites, downloading, looking at youtube or looking at flash sites, then continue reading.

The biggest problem with Internet Explorer is that it goes onto sites which are harmful without even giving you a warning. Other browsers (stated below) warn you before entering harmful sites. Read on to find out more:

Google Chrome

Do you like playing online flash games? Then I highly recommend you downloading Google Chrome. Chrome is also very good for watching videos. I would recommend you to use it if you don't have much time, or just want a quick browse.

Internet Explorer

Internet is made up of Microsoft. Every computer with the hardware of Microsoft gets the Internet Explorer installed. NOTE: Do not try uninstalling it, without going into its setup path (complicated), your computer may break.

Internet is slow to load, but has some very good functions and a good outlook. Every other browser takes ideas from Internet.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla firefox is made by every person interested. By this I mean that from all the other browsers, Mozilla isn't updated by a company, but by comments of people. There is a server, which reads the comments and puts them into newer versions. By using this approach, harmful websites are blocked and you are warned, because other people have seen them.

I really recommend having this as your default browser!

Safari

Safari is the same as the Internet Explorer, just that it comes for MAC. (Read the section 2-above for the info).

For Windows users this is very slow and kinda rubbish.

I will not right the +/- because it is the same as Internet.

Opera

Opera is, just like Safari and Internet, the same as Firefox. (Read the sections 2-above for the info)

I too recommend it as your default browser. I do not have this browser installed on my computer, as it is the same as Firefox.

Summary

It is simple - just stop using Internet and change! -. That is actually all I got to say!

OHH, yes just an example:

When I was looking for a picture for my religion project (a pic of Confucius) I found one of those harmful sites, the browsers reacted, just as above!

If you ever use Internet and come over a site, where the site runs a virus check automatically, and ofcourse detects a virus, then it will start downloading a program, (only in Internet!) DO NOT SAVE IT!! It wills steal your bank account info....
